As per CDC Regulations, deposit of street name shares in CDS is prohibited. In this regard, an issue was noted and also highlighted by some of our clients with respect to establishing the ownership of securities when they are in the name of joint account holders.

In view of the above, registration details of the Joint Account Holders are now made available through the Deposit Approval/Rejection screen and Deposit Approval/Rejection Report in CDS at R/TA / Issuer end. This enhancement would facilitate our clients in verifying the joint holder details, in turn enabling Registrar/Transfer Agents to fulfill their important role efficiently.
