  Muhammad Hanif - Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Muhammad Hanif is the Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) and the Institute of Corporate Secretaries of Pakistan (ICSP).

Mr Hanif was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of National Clearing Company of Pakistan Ltd. (NCCPL) in January 2002 and served in that position up to September, 2005. He is currently holding the position of Chief Executive Officer of Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited (CDC) since March 2002.

He has served as the Chairman of the Committee to Review Institutional Arrangement for Financing Stock Brokers and Stock Market Investors and is a member of Margin Financing Committee formed by Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan. He is also serving as Member of the Advisory Committee on Medium Term Plan/Strategy for Regulation & Development of Corporate & Financial (Non-banking) Sectors. He has also served as the Chairman of Asia-Pacific Central Securities Depositories Group. He has been instrumental in the development of the Capital Market in Pakistan since joining CDC in 1994.

 
  Kamran Ahmed Qazi - Chief Financial Officer & Company Secretary

Obtained Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Karachi in 1989. Completed the formal training period from A. F. Ferguson & Co. (member firm of Price Waterhouse Coopers) as required by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. Qualified as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan in October 1995 and admitted as Associate Member of ICAP in 1996.

Joined Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited as Company Secretary and Head of Legal & Compliance in March 2003 and currently serving as Chief Financial Officer & Company Secretary since September 2004.

Prior to joining CDC worked as Senior Manager with KPMG Taseer Hadi Khalid & Co., Chartered Accountants from February 1999 till February 2003. Major responsibilities included supervising audit of various multinationals and large local corporate entities, handling professional training courses on auditing and accounting standards, audit methodologies etc. Also looked after personnel related matters of the firm and assisting Risk Management Partner of the firm in implementing Risk Management and Ethics and Independence guidelines provided by KPMG International.

Worked as Vice President (Financial Analyst) in DCR-VIS Credit Rating Company Limited from February 1997 to January 1999. Carried out several rating assignments as Lead Analyst and Co-Analyst of both financial and non-financial sector after acquiring formal training in USA conducted by Duff & Phelps Credit Rating Company.

 
  Ejaz Ali Shah - Head of Marketing & Customer Support Services

Obtained Intermediate (Science) Certificate in 1983 and Bachelor of Business Administration (M. I. S.) from the University of Oklohama, U. S. A. in 1989.

Served as Systems Analyst/Programmer Analyst in Cordoba Corporation, Los Angeles from November 1989 to January 1992. Served Management Automation Group as Project Manager from January 1992 to February 1994 and in Fidelity Investment Bank Limited as Manager, Money & Capital Markets, from February 1994 to March 1997. Also Senior Member of International Public Relations Association (IPRA) since 2004.

Currently serving as Head of Marketing & Customer Support Services in the Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited since March 1997.

 
  Aftab Ahmed Diwan - Chief Operating Officer

Obtained Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Karachi in 1978.

Joined Citibank in May 1981 and worked in various departments, including Financial Control, Credit and Custody department. Posted offshore during September 1997. Offshore assignments include Romania as Securities Business Manager and London as Project co-ordinator of Cash Exception Project.

Left Citibank in May 1999 and joined Central Depository Company Of Pakistan Limited as Head of Operations. Elevated to the position of Chief Operating Officer in September 2004.

 
  Fazal Gaffoor, FCA - Chief Internal Auditor

A Fellow Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. Completed audit-training period of four years with A. F. Ferguson & Co., Chartered Accountants, a member firm of Price Waterhouse Coopers in 1990. Have passed Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) exams.

Over 16 years of experience at senior positions starting as Manager, Taxation from 1992 to 1996 with A. F. Ferguson & Co. then served Khadim Ali Shah Bukhari and Company Limited as Head of Finance and Accounts from June 1996 to September 1997. Thereafter Joined Jardine Fleming Pakistan (JP Morgan) in September 1997 and worked as Senior Financial Officer and Compliance Officer till April 2001. Prior to joining CDC in September 2003 worked as Group Financial Controller in iHilal Financial Services FZ LLC, a leading financial group in Dubai, UAE, for two years.

 
  Syed Muhammad Saleem - Head of Investor Account Services
Obtained Bachelor’s degree in commerce from St. Patrick’s college (affiliated with the University of Karachi) in 1982. worked for Fuji Films (Pak) from 1984 to 1987 in the department of Marketing & Sales. Worked for Banker’s Equity Ltd. from 1987-1994 in the Merchant Banking Division, covering areas of shares management, portfolio management, equity investments, COI branches as an In-Charge reporting to SEVP/Divisional Head.

Obtained Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut, U.S.A in 1997. worked as a part time management consultant during 1996 for a project of sick industries sponsored by Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce, U.S.A.

Joined CDC in April 1997 and currently working as Deputy General Manager/Head of Investor Account Services.

 
  Syed Asif Shah - Head of Information Technology
Obtained Masters in Computer Science as a position holder from the University of Karachi in 1994. In early 1995 started the professional career as an Analyst/Programmer in the Information Systems department of ORIX Leasing Pakistan. In late 1997 joined the Information Technology department of CDC and looked after various functions as Manager Database Administration, Manager Application Systems, Project Manager National Clearing & Settlement System (NCSS) and Manager IT Systems & Services.

In early 2003 got elevated to the position of Head of Information Technology. Under his lead the IT department successfully deployed NCSS and carried out the re-engineering of Central Depository System. In late 2006 got elevated to the rank of Chief Information Officer looking after Information Technology as well as Enterprise Security functions. Has represented CDC at various professional forums organized in Pakistan, USA, UK, France, Singapore, India, UAE, Bahrain, Bangladesh and Ghana.

 
  Atiqur Rehman- Head of Trustee & Custodial Operations
Obtained Bachelor of Commerce Degree from University of Karachi. Completed four years training period from KPMG – Taseer Hadi Khalid & Co. as required by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan in December 1996 and having Chartered Accountant finalist.

Joined Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited (CDC) in March 1997 and served as a member of core team of Operations Department, who successfully developed and implemented the automated Central Depository System (CDS) and National Clearing & Settlement System (NCSS). He has deputed as Head of Product Development & UAT in February 2004, on this position he has headed the project of re-engineering of Central Depository System and several other Projects. Subsequently he has deputed as Head of Application Development department in July 2005 and being head, the application development has successfully implemented the IVR, Web, Unique Identification Number (UIN) and several other modules in CDS & NCSS.

Currently he is serving as Head of Trustee and Custodial Operations since July 2006.

 
  Farooq Hussain - Head of Administration
Obtained Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Karachi and subsequently completed Bachelor of Law.

Joined Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited on March 15, 1995 as Administration Officer and have been active in the development of administrative procedures and policies since the inception of the Company. Have obtained over ten years of experience in front line management and currently working as Head of Administration. Also looking after the administrative affairs including physical security and network of branches across Pakistan. Have been actively involved in the construction/renovation of CDC House, CDC Hyderabad Branch, CDC Lahore Upper Mall Branch and CDC Progressive Plaza Branch.

 
  Abdul Samad - Head of Operations
Obtained Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Karachi in 1991. Completed four years mandatory training, under Chartered Accountants Bye-Laws with KPMG-Taseer Hadi Khalid & Co, Chartered Accountants in June 1995. Qualified as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) in November 1997 and admitted as Associate Member of ICAP in 1998.

In July 1996 joined the Operations Department of Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited (CDC) and served as a member of core team who successfully implemented CDC–Master Implementation Plan that led to the implementation of fully-automated Central Depository System.

Currently serving as Head of Operations in CDC since November 2005.

 
  Javed Shakoor - Head of Product Development & Human Resources
Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales since 1971 and of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan since 1977.

Prior to joining CDC served as General Manager, Finance in the Board of Industrial Management from 1974 to 1975, as Systems Manager in Pakistan Oxygen Ltd. (now BOC Gases Pakistan Ltd.) from 1975 to 1981, as Financial Controller of an oil refinery in Saudi Arabia from 1981 to 1989, as Director in an independent consultancy practice from 1989 to 1998, as Director in a major conglomerate in Bangladesh from 1998 to 2001, as General Manager Systems in Pakistan State Oil from 2001 to 2003 and as Director Finance in Berger Paints Pakistan Ltd. from 2003 to 2007.

Joined CDC in April 2007 as Head of Product Development. Also looking after the functions of the Human Resources Department.
