
Ghulam Mustafa
With more than 18 years of experience in the areas of Corporate Finance, Budgeting, and Restructuring, Mr. Mustafa is a Strategic Financial Planner. He started his career as an auditor in the Health Department of the Government of Punjab. After, serving in the public sector for two years, he joined the former Lahore Stock Exchange Limited in 2006 as an accounts officer. In 2015, he was promoted as a Chief Financial Officer of the Lahore Stock Exchange due to his advancement in the Accounts and Finance Department.
Mr. Mustafa plays a key role in developing Corporate Restructuring Plans and Strategic Financial Models that helps the Organisation to accomplish its short- and long-term goals. He possesses practical expertise in Project Appraisal, Financial Analysis, and Decision-Making for businesses.
His primary area of interest is the Designing, Development, Evaluation, and Implementation of the Company’s Internal Control System and ensuring compliance with the applicable policies. His core area of competence is the finalization of financial statements within the framework of IAS / IFRS and relevant Laws & Regulations. He is a specialist in developing strategic company plans, tax planning, and forecasting for the Board’s decision-making.
He is also equally good at both money market portfolio management (short term) as well as capital market investments (long term). Currently, he is tasked with managing more than Rs. 2.0 billion worth of funds owned by the LSE and its various trusts.
He was a member of the LSE team that oversaw the Stock Exchange’s transformation from Guarantee Limited to a Corporatized and Demutualized Stock Exchange as a Public Company. He also served as Head of HR as well as Secretary to the HR Committee, in addition to being the Trustee of the Capital Regulatory Funds of the Former Lahore Stock Exchange.
He has been awarded the certifications of Fundamentals of Capital Markets and Pakistan’s Market Regulations from Institute of Financial Markets of Pakistan. Mr. Mustafa holds an MBA in Finance from Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad, and has also cleared CIMA-UK (Strategic Level).
