Mr. Badiuddin Akber takes charges as CEO of Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited
Mr. Badiuddin Akber has taken charge as the Chief Executive Officer of the Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited (CDC). Earlier, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) approved his appointment on the recommendation of CDC’s Board of Directors.
CDC awarded IPO Market Innovation Award for second consecutive year
In recognition of its efforts to address the issue of low investor participation in IPOs in Pakistan, CDC has been recently awarded, for the second time, the IPO Market Innovation Award 2017-2018 at SAFE-PSX Pakistan IPO SUMMIT 2018, held in Lahore. Mr. Aftab Ahmed Diwan, CEO-CDC received this award from Governor Punjab, Mr. Muhammad Sarwar.

A delegation from the U.S. Consulate General Karachi, comprising of Consul General JoAnne Wagner and her economic team, visited CDC on August 13, 2018. CDC Share Registrar Services offers e-voting facility
To facilitate Pakistan Capital Market investors, CDC’s Share Registrar Services recently launched eVoting service. It is a web based electronic infrastructure through which shareholders can register themselves and cast their votes electronically (when required) through internet during the poll / election of directors.
Dividend/Zakat & Tax Deduction Summary Report introduced on CDC’s eServices portal
In order to facilitate investors, a Dividend/Zakat & Tax Deduction Summary Report has been made available on CDC- eServices portal under eDividend tab. Through this report, shareholders can view summary of all cash dividends received against securities during a financial year at one place. The report also provides details such as amount of gross and net dividend, tax and zakat deductions, and date of payment of dividend. Moreover, it will help shareholders in filing their tax returns.
CDC offers 50% cashback on Online Transactions
CDC has an enduring commitment to promote digitization of Capital Market processes and ensure provision of more efficient and transparent service to the investors. In line with this objective, digital alternatives of various manual processes have been introduced over time. CDC Access is one such customer focused, online service package which gives investors the benefit of accessing vital account information and initiating Portfolio Transfers through Online Transactions in real time without any paper work or manual effort.

Islamic Investment Awareness Session held in Sialkot and Gujranwala in collaboration with PSX and Al Meezan Investments

Investor Awareness Seminars for Sub Account and Investor Account Holders held in Karachi, Lahore & Rawalpindi
CDC conducted a series of Investor Awareness Seminars for Sub-Account and Investor Account Holders in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi during the first quarter of this year. The seminars were held at CDC offices in the respective cities. A total of 220 account holders attended these seminars.

eDividend Repository service awareness seminar conducted for Share Registrar Companies in Karachi & Lahore
CDC has always supported introduction of reforms in Pakistan Capital Market and adoption of best practices of the global CSD industry. With a similar objective, one recent initiative in this direction has been the launch of an eDividend Repository service which maintains history of all cash benefits paid to shareholders in a Centralized Cash Dividend Register (CCDR).
